I would say 1976 or newer going by the design.

But under the right light angle the year can be seen so it is technically not a 1XXX.

That is a diagnostic characteristic of any Cud ... Cud are formed when a portion of the die breaks away ... the distinctive 'glob' of metal on the Cud side being where the die failed.

Without a die in the location to contain the metal ... the opposite side (in this case the reverse) can not exert design pressure resulting in the weakness shown.

Any ' Cud' without this opposite side weakness is most likely post-mint applied something.
