I recently purchased a rare book through ebay, and it did arrive in good shape. I had several conversations with the seller during the purchase process, and they were very nice people. I'll say that the cost of the book was well up in 4 figures, but not 5. It arrived in an oversized bubble mailer sliding around loose with only a tissue paper dust jacket. I was appalled, but like I said, fortunately the book was in the condition I purchased. Need suggestions for appropriate feedback. Thanks.

Positive. You got the item you purchased how you purchased it. It may have been a risky way to ship it but it worked out

Exactly! I can't imagine anyone wanting to leave anything other than a positive feedback for someone who was nice to them, and provided the exact item in the exact condition they were supposed to?

I suggest leaving a positive feedback and contacting the sellers directly with tips on packaging.

There is no excuse for wrapping ANY item, let alone in that price range, so poorly.

The fact that it escaped damage is like winning the lottery.

There have been so many unique and valuable items severely damaged by poor packing that those sellers who have such little regard for their merchandise should be reminded if necessary.

Ill spend 15 minutes on a well wrapped package, even though I have an entire room devoted to packing. That's very little time to insure safe passage.

I'd leave positive feedback but note the quality of packaging in the comments. I do that even for good packaging because it is important for many types of items. A polite, separate note to the seller depends on a few things, and since you already had good communications with them already, I'd do that too.

Positive. You seem to have a good rapport with the seller, so contact him/her personally with your concerns and suggestions.

It was a favorable albeit risky purchase. I would put in my comments that packaging needs to be more secure. If nothing else it is not a negative but a reminder to the seller and future buyers(those that bother a bit of research!)
