This appears to be a die clash to me but need an more experienced review. The "E" in "LIBERTY" looks like it has the lower corner of the Memorial platform from the reverse running through it (see "razorback" from right mem corner) and then the "T" in "LIBERTY" has something going on.

Look at these overlays, make sure you get the right one. Notice E is in location of reverse field, so couldn't be. Must be a gouge on the die in those areas. http://www.maddieclashes.com/one-cent-overlays/

You forgot the coin flips 180°

Thank you for the link to the overlays; that is awesome.

I don't know what else has that appearance but when I first looked at it I thought about the portion of the Memorial on the reverse on the edge I refer to as "razorback" because the points look like it. (see small photo).

Could it be a floating die clash?

I guess it could be but doesn't look like a gouge but an imprint to me.

There is still something going on with the "T" in Liberty where it appears to be repeated between "R" & "T".

Can I get an expert opinion on that?
Rest in Peace

Dude, what it appears you have are Die gouges. Here's a diagram of what a die would look like from the side. Remember it is reversed image. If a scratch happened across the face of the die from one of many mechanical motion parts of the press it could go in between the devices or across the whole device like this on the B. Good eye to catch that!'

Pardon, the B is an E, but the principle is the same.
