1860 was a low mintage year for this issue @286,000 struck. This is before production dropped off a cliff in 1863.

Notoriously difficult to photograph, you've done an above average job so we can actually see that tiny tot.

Obverse has a little better than average strike, while the reverse has a typically weak strike.

Since neither strike is dead center, it's tough to tell strike weakness from circulation. Likewise, the fields are so tiny that trying to establish disturbance is neigh impossible.

There is a large die crack on the reverse, which is obvious, but I'm not certain if the line that bisected all three III is a scratch or another die crack.

Never cleaned, which is a huge bonus.

AU-55 is my best guess.

AU55. the scratches on the reverse are a little distracting. since this is a blowup its hard to tell whether they are bad enough for a details designation
