I was searching through ebay listings of world coins and I came across this. I see several things that could make it a counterfeit: 1) A possible seam-line (Obverse: 11-12 o'clock and Reverse: 12-3 o'clock) 2) Line streaks coming from "ONE DOLLAR" on the reverse 3) Chop Marks look strange to me
I could be mistaken, but I wouldn't want anyone to be taken advantage of. What do you think? Is it a counterfeit or is it a genuine 1903 Straits Settlements One Dollar?
In terms of the word dollar, it is thin and mushy. Not distinctive. Refer to above image. Crude characters. A better made Chinese fake. Also has some fake toning, typical.
