1990, 1994 Non Magnetic Pennies

From reading in Charlton copper plated zinc (non magnetic) pennies started in 1997. I have a 1990 and 1994 that are non magnetic. I don't see any reference to varieties for these years as in later years where it is common to have both.
Any comments would be appreciated.

They are non-magnetic because they are bronze.
All cents 1996 and earlier are bronze.
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...

Thanks DBM. Shows my ignorance of metals, just with all the magnetic and non magnetic in the later years I never thought of earlier being bronze.
