I made it to my 1947 pile and came across this one. I have seen members post these before but now that I'm pulling out the errors a varieties I am using your knowledge to properly label them. So what do I have here?

Looks like damage to me and not a Grease Filled Die.

I don't see any grooves or scratches. Just a hint of the letters showing. I'm thinking if someone did this on purpose there should be buff marks or some hint of wear, no?
