Can MD occur in 2 or 3 directions?
I ask because the 2 looks like it has a dot and 3 doubling marks from its tail on the right side.
All other numbers show doubling in both directions and maybe also going up. Thoughts?

The machine must have been real loose when your coin was struck. Business strike coins are only struck once. So it was real sloppy at that time when your coin was struck/altered.

The date devices are reduced. The normal mint mark look a lot larger.
