This is a lightweight aluminum token or commemorative, 20 mm diameter, with a scalloped edge. It looks the same as a regular Agorah coin except that it is undated and says "MITE" on one side and has the letters LWML running both down and across on the other. Any help with this will be greatly appreciated.

I agree not a coin. I think that LWML = Lutheran Women's Missionary League. Perhaps these tokens were made to support one of their projects?

All I could come up with is the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. Mite would be in reference to the ancient tiny coin called a Widow's Mite.

Many thanks for your comment, Spence. I think you are right. I looked up the Lutheran Women's Missionary League and see that they have "mite boxes" to collect donations. So it would make sense that they could have a "mite" minted. I appreciate your fast and helpful response.

Glad to help! I wish that I could have found another example of this token somewhere on the interwebs, but I'm not finding anything.
