Hi, thank you for making this forum available. I'm from Quincy MA,and Ive been collecting Lincoln cents for a little over two years. I also collect Jefferson nickels, but mostly Lincoln cents. I should confess I registered here last year posted pictures and everybody was great giving me information, but I realized that I needed to step back and really do my homework and learn as much as I could about the history of the Lincoln Cent. They'll always be something new to learn but I think I have the basics down.

If I had to say what I struggle with the most it would definitely be trying to determine a genuine doubled die Lincoln Cent from a Lincoln Cent having Strike Doubling, machine or mechanic doubling and or die fatigue.
I understand a true doubled die will almost always have splits in the serifs of letters and or numbers with rounded secondary images.
Then there is the class V1 doubled dies that tend to confuse me even more with the thicker letters in the loops. 0I don't mind telling you that I have ADHD which doesn't exactly help my thought process when I'm trying to figure these out LOL please bear with me, once I get this down I think with your help I'll be okay LOL

In closing, wondering if it would be okay if I posted a couple zoomed-in pictures of coins that I believe are genuine doubled die, but I'm always second-guessing myself. I'm hoping someone might be able to share their expertise and guide me so that in the future I won't have such a hard time trying to figure out if I have a genuine doubled die or not. I'm eager to learn as much as I can so any help would be
greatly appreciated. Thank You

p.s please excuse any typos in advance as I'm writting this from my phone.

You really do get better with practice. I have learned a lot since I started wandering these forums, mostly reading, but try to add input once in a while.

But keep coin to its own thread. That way when looking for what you have, we are not confused with different coins in the same thread.
Always create your own thread put the date mint mark and information on the title.
Then inside before you images what you are seeing on that coin.
Try to not post 50 threads all at the same time. Why? What if they are all showing the same issue.
Looking forward to your posts.
