Since so much cash goes through my hands each week I try to keep an eye out for oddities though I do not check them all. Last week I got 10 old style $100's, one was a 1950 and another was this 1963 star note. I know "put it on ebay", but I haven't got around to doing ebay yet. Any opinions? I will likely spend it on halves later unless its worth the trouble to save. Thanks for looking, Mark

to bad its not a red seal, but it still should be worth more than face value being a star note. I am sure it would bring more on ebay but most people on the forum can't afford 100 dollars to keep away but you can try to sell it on the forum and see but I still think ebay would be the best way to sell it for more than face. But even if you sell it on the forum for face value you will not loose anything and maybe even help someone else with their collection. Another thing that will help it is its a relatively low serial number (most people look for 4 zero's but 3 zero's isn't anything to throw back either, atleast I keep all 3 zero's as well)

Thanks for the reply. I know I can't afford to hold it forever either but I will until I need it for half dollars. Maybe I will try ebay- its already $100 piece of paper, how much more could it get bid up haha. Now if it was $100 piece of silver it would be different. Mainly I just wanted to share. HH Mark

Wow thats a very interesting find! Low serial # and a nd 1963 sereis that would definatel pull a premium on ebay, not much I suppose since it is circulated.

but just think, anything you get on ebay over 100 dollars is more than you would get by cashing it into the bank

I found someone who traded ME a roll of silver Rosies and $50- he was happy and at least I turned half of it into silver. HH Mark

Tim, I haven't looked at the dimes except to count and make sure all were silver- I spend 4 or 5 hours a day searching half dollars. That and my regular job don't leave a whole lot of spare time. Davis, I am always on the lookout- I'll PM if I find another in good condition. I did actually find another but the condition was such that I just spent it on more halves. HH Mark

Dude, you will not believe this.
At my local coin shop, here in shreveport louisianna, they have a 1963 100$ star note wih three 000's in the serial number. Its from the same printing as your note there.
I was incredulous
