Going through my small bill collection and I thought I would share this picture of a 1977A that I picked out of circulation years ago.

It's possible it might be another kind of ink that's post print and not an "error"

Curious on others inputs....

This looks post print to me. If you could get an extreme close up it would help a lot. If this is an ink smear it would have to have been caused by some huge amounts of excessive ink, and would be a pretty valuable error note. Another helper would be a picture of the front, as such large amounts of ink should seep through to the other side of the bill.

Hmmm..

Look at the 'E' in ONE. See the smear that goes downward from the darker line in the E?

That to me makes it a big more legit.

I'm no expert though..

Well, it's definately possible to have a bill like this, but it's very a very scarce occuring situation for this to occur and find it's way past quality contol. It's important to know it's real, because if it is, it would be worth something.

OK here are 2 more pictures as asked, one a close up of the reverse smear and one of the front. The Ink is the right color for the printing.

That is pretty cool. I think I see a sort of doubling along the edges of the reverse.

What I'd like to know is where the rollers are I see what looks like roller marks on the 'I' in united and the Second 't' In States, these are outside the plates and also conserned that the left side of the bill has marks. Might be a belt etc... Any one know or have info on the rollers.

Sort of off-topic, but what does the number on the reverse, lower-right of the E on ONE mean? I've never seen one in the thousands before ... most I see are double digits...
