I've been thinking on this for a few months, between threads started by curious newcomers, Augustuscoin's excellent website, and organizing my own meandering collection. I think it would greatly benefit both this board and our hobby as a whole to have a centralized, organized and designated "Start Here!" thread. I am working on a few threads within my own specialty areas, but I think that between all of us, we could probably cover nearly everything.
Any thoughts on this, one way or another? I'm willing to get the ball rolling, but I have a long way to go before I can speak authoritatively on Greek, Persian, Celtic, Islamic, or Medieval coins. Here's roughly what I have in mind so far:
