S-166 that die crack is diagnostic for the variety. As far as I know every specimen shows the crack, there are various stages showing different amounts of chipping around the E.

Ok thanks! So what about from the E and along the wreath going down through the 1/100? Haven't seen another yet, but could be searching in wrong place!

The S-166 is one of the more common 1798 varieties. All of them have the arc crack from the rim by the E, through the E, the wreath, the fraction and back to the rim. The different die stages are determined by how much chipping there is in and around the E. Yours is a fairly late die stage, but it really doesn't affect the value that much. As you discovered the 186 comes with a similar arc crack on the other side of the Reverse, but 186 comes both with and without the crack, also that die was used to strike 1798's then 1799's and then more 1798's as an interrupted die marriage.
