I am an American in Germany and Switzerland and Austria and just to let you guys know a slang word for a heap of money is ''Batzen'' in Germany, and I know I understand where this comes from. Thanks.

1c5d7n5m - that is an incredible coin, never seen one like that before! My contribution is much more modest - an 1897 20-rappen. But it has one interesting claim to fame - I received it in change in Montreux, Switzerland, in June 1981!  Edited by NumisRob

Came across these billon 1 Batzen coins today, of the type with which I started this thread off a couple years back.   The one on the left is an 1827 issue of the Canton of Vaud, the other an 1826 Basel. Colligo ergo sum
