Anyone use them?

I had my first order of coins sent and I decided to purchase a 2001 UNC Silver Eagle.
Rest in Peace

Hello wrk4lvg! A few months back, a thread about Littleton ran. They are very reputable, if not a little pricy! Here's the link to that thread. Mike

Our price? We sold quite a few at Baltimore $11.00

With any dealer that uses Mail Order as their primary means, be careful of the loss leaders. They sell you coins at or near actual cost to get you hooked. Then you end up paying through the nose.

Just an example here.

AN 1884-CC Morgan in GSA holder on their website

Grade:

Item Price:
$325.00

Recent Coin World Ad. 1884-CC Morgan dollar in GSA holder

If you are careful, and really keep on top of the prices, there are deals to be had. Just remember that there are NO free rides, and that there are far more sharks in these waters than you can see.

While I agree that Littleton is on the pricey side, I have a soft spot in my heart for them because I purchased quite a few coins and stamps from them when I was a child. The coins were not worth as much as I paid for them, but they had so many coins that I could purchase for a dollar or two, it gave me a way to continue to add to my collection with just my allowance. At 7 years old, it was a great way to feel independent and they always put the coins in little envelopes that gave information about the coin. I got mostly world coins this way and it was neat to be able to read a little about the history. As a kid, I wasn't as interested in grade and condition as I am now. I was much more interested in variety and Littleton was great for that.
