Just found this one today, it looks like an early die state. I say this because this die is riddeled with cracks in later die stages. Mine has one that verifies it for me. I threw in a wexlers comparison pic. What do y'all think? It may be a new die state!

You gave no numbers or where you are seing doubling. I'm not seeing anything other than a reverse die crack, which remember thet may be paired with another obverse die than a DDO one. I see no DDO on date, no rotational size increase. The reverse dot isn't "ovaled", so what are you referencing?

The mintmark on your coin is further south than on 1940-S 002 . Not the same obverse.
If the reverse is ddr-002 then that would be interesting.

It's not it, I thought it was the #2 on cc. That die crack is identical. Thanks guys. The mm isn't in the same spot

How about a picture of the upper end of the right wheat head?
From the pictures you have, it looks like a spread there, but it's kind of blurry in that area.

Cwb, I thought so too. When I first looked at it I thought it was a DDR not DDO but saw that one with the same crack. Here's a pic of upper wheat and lower left stem is thick as well.
