Looks like just honest wear on this copper LMC, perhaps spending time as someone's pocket piece.

Tumbler coin, similar to a Dryer Coin but put in a rock polishing tumbler. One that has the abrasives to polish rocks to jewelry. My father had one in the 70's before he died. Used to put a cent or two and some other small coins in,"just to see what happens"...you see, I come by my breaking and altering things by mechanical or chemical means quite honestly. (signed, LJ)

Whatever method, it was heavily polished to create that. Just PMD, I'm afraid.
