Hello everyone, new member here and I'm hoping someone can help me. I'm a fairly new collector and have a problem. I was showing my daughter my bicentennial silver proof set and she accidentally knocked the Ike silver dollar loose. It dropped onto our tile floor, cracked, and popped open. It broke into three pieces and I can't get them back together. I've tried looking online for a replacement holder that will fit the diecut hole in the set, but everything seems to be an outside diameter of 44mm+. The original holder is 40mm. Does anyone know of any holders that are 40mm outside diameter that will fit the Ike? I've looked on air-tite and a few other producer's sites, but again everything seems to be larger. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'd prefer not to have to buy a replacement single, but if that's my only option I'll go that route. Thanks!
I do not think you are going to find a replacement. Those capsules are proprietary to the three coin bicentennial set. If someone knows differently, I hope they will let us know.
Of course, your loose Ike can be fixed some friends and a Dansco album.
Thanks for the information. I figured it wasn't something I could replace, but thought I would check with those who have more experience. I've located a few sealed in their capsules for sale at a decent price, so I will probably buy one of those for the set and put the one from the broken holder into an air-tite and keep it in my collection. Thanks again!

It is always good to ask, even if you suspect the answer is one you will not like.
