I found this penny while coin roll hunting. It's very light, it looks like there's no copper coating, and it's depressed in the middle. On the sides of the coin, along the edges, you can see a groove in the middle.

@RC, your pics are pretty far out of focus. I assume that it is from 1982 or later, right? The color would indicate that @mark1959 was right in that the copper plating was stripped off in some way and the grooves would be post-mint damage as @crazyb0's graphic indicates. Seems like your cent is spendable, but better pics would help to confirm that.
