At the store today I noticed a penny heads up on the ground in an aisle. When I picked it up, I flipped it in my hand and saw the wheat reverse. 1938. After checkout I had to stop at the service desk and I saw the woman had a roll of pennies and asked if she had extras if I could buy any extra rolls from her. She asked if two was okay. I didn't want to push my limit so I excepted, and one of the rolls had a wheat back right at the end of the roll looking right at me which turned out to be a 1953 D in pretty rough shape, but a wheat none the less.

In the roll there was also a 1969 that looked BU that was better than the one in my book so I switched it out. Not a bad day. It doesn't take much to make me happy.

You'd think so, but I was walking so I just did a quick flip and then was going to look at it later when I got home. But when I saw the wheat I stopped walking and took a closer look at the date, and put it in the special coin pocket.

Funny you should ask because if I hadn't stopped to check the date then I would have turned down the next aisle 10 seconds quicker and probably wouldn't have run into a crazy relative of mine and wouldn't have lost 30 minutes of my day catching up. haha.
