With over 78 million struck in that year, this is and probably will remain a low value coin regardless of how high a grade it might attain. But I nevertheless wanted to submit this specimen for your evaluation. Brown to be sure, but it's difficult to discern any wear, and there are certainly plenty of spots where such ought to readily show. It's a remarkable achievement, really, that dies for a coin just 19 mm in diameter could be fabricated and then employed in churning out such a huge number of them, and somehow the end product still exhibits this level of fine detail.

I'm not good at grading world coins, but I happen to have that exact coin and yours looks a tiny bit better than mine.

It is definitely circulated. Beyond that, it must be the equivalent of mid-AU, right?

Hard to see any wear under the patination.
I have often seen these in bright red - despite their age.
I guess that most of them saw little, if any circulation at all.
Maybe someone in the CCF can postulate a reason for this.
I am bereft of clues in this regard.

From my experience, most common grade seen is around AU.
