You should include the date, mintmark, and the denomination in your titles.

Why Topic Titles are Important

The title of your topic is very important. Let's say you need help attributing an 1896 Morgan Dollar....

  • Horrendous: Help!

  • Bad: Need help with coin

  • Better: Need help with Morgan Dollar

  • Good: Need help with 1896 Morgan Dollar

  • Awesome: Need help with VAM on 1896 Morgan Dollar

This enables the members with expertise pertaining to your question to easily find and answer your question. The title of the topic also becomes the title of the topic's web page, which enables us to attract more collectors to the site. The more members we have, the more we learn.

MD. That is not a doubled die rather a doubling caused by a shift or bounce during the strike. Does not carry a premium. One way to tell is on pre 1990s coins is if the mint mark is doubled, then it is usually not a doubled die. The MM was placed on the die after the doubling would have happened.
Also it appears to be a large date.

to the forum!

It is a 1970-S LARGE date.

It is not a doubled die.

It is showing (MD) Machine Doubling, no added value. There are many ways this can happen, during the strike, or during ejection from the dies, but it is a common mint error, not a collectable variety.

Your coin is a 1970 S Large Date. Not the small date and not a DDO. Here's a link to help you identify the DDO - http://coppercoins.com/Lincoln/dies...ie_state=eds

Good luck on the hunt!
Rest in Peace

I can see why you would ask, but it's just MD.

Fill the title of a post out completely or you may wake the Fuzzy Bear.
