I think your lighting is just playing tricks on your eyes. It's hard to see the edges of the letters because of the shadows and glare.

1) Practice, Practice, Practice
2) The right lighting
3) High zoom USB microscope (I own 3)
4) Good software

I have been trying to perfect this for the past 2 years...getting better but still don't have it yet.
Rest in Peace

I have to admit that sometimes I think you give up the joy of appreciating the coins themselves when you are turning them into billboard sized magnification.

Agreed...you can see it clearly enough (IMO) in the section level detail...
However, I get the "can you zoom in"? "adjust the light", etc
I spun this coin 360 degrees and I am seeing doubled/broken initials...of course I can also be wrong...and have been

The real beauty is seeing the detail at the lowest magnification in the largest section...
