I think these chips would be considered Cuds, don't see any on coc for the last several years. Also the area on the obverse circled in red doesn't appear to be damage there's pitting on the rim there and seems like a planchet issue. What do you guys think?

I don't know for sure, but I think this would just be considered Die Chips, you know like the Die Chips on the "Bar Nickels" from 1960. Yours is similar to a bar Nickel except that it is in EPU and not the date.

Usually when you have a Cud, the area is higher than the rim and often leaves a weakness on the reverse design.

Note the Cud is taller than the rim and the reverse has a weakness on the ONE. That is because of the missing area on the die, the obverse side was not fully formed, and because of the missing thickness on the obverse rim, the opposite area will be weaker because there is not pressure from the opposite side of the obverse die because of the die being split off.
