I found this Nickel today and couldn't help but notice how messed up it was on the obverse, my gut is telling me it's PMD but I figured I'd ask someone smarter than me to be certain. The other thing I noticed was that the coin appears to have a dye-crack on the reverse above the word cents, is this PMD as well or are my suspicions correct?

Just as an additional note I apologize for the poor picture quality I don't have a USB microscope yet so these were taken with my phone, I will try my best to more and elaborate as needed.

Edit: Took some pictures with MUCH better lighting, hopefully, these help.

Yeah in the new pictures that's what it looks like too. It was so glaringly obvious before, must have been a lighting issue. Thank you for the feedback.

Probably a Dremel tool may have been used. It wasn't struck like that. If it was prevent by grease, then the fields would show the natural finish of the coin in tact. But with the scratches on the surface, it looks like someone was trying to create an error coin. PSD
