Hello,

I am not active in this particular forum but I came across this coin. It looks like a die break or crack running at a 45 degree angle out of the back of his neck. Does anyone have any info? Is it random? Something that is collected? Thanks!

The obverse is a Linear plating bubble under the plating. No premium for this.

The reverse looks like a slight amount of grease on the die and also weakness because of the strike to form the obverse bust side. (also common on this area)

Just a Linear Plating Bubble (Gas Bubble). No premium as Coop stated. 1982 was a bad year for the U.S. Mint since they were switching over to Copper plated Zinc Planchets. They had a lot of problems with the plating process since contaminates would get in the plating mix.
Errers and Varietys.

Not to worry Claude, I'm mixing it with 98.7% pure oxygen being feed through my nose, the effects are lessened and don't linger long.
