Greetings everyone in the coin collectors' community. I was inspired by the youtube videos of BlueRidgeSilverHound & JBCOINSINC. In the process of my start-up collection of coins from circulation, I found this cute 1963D penny. I don't know if it was mint produced or a welder's product of imagination. Any input will help.

sosicoin! Glad you're here and starting your collection. If you can post clear photos of your cent, someone can probably tell you all about it.

My apologies. My being a newbie is evident. I tried following the upload image instructions & got the download message but the pictures are not showing, image is about 29kb. Am I missing any instructions? Thanks in advance for the assistance.

My apologies. I used my android phone to send pictures. It didn't work. I used my computer to upload the pictures. It works. I hope you can tell me something about this cute, little penny.

Someone posted a similar example recently. The consensus was that the coin had been ground down by someone with too much time to kill...
I think that's what your coin is as well.

They (WE) ground these down back in the 60's to fit in the milk machines at school...it worked back in the technological stone-age youngsters! That way we had more money to buy baseball cards or comic books! Allowances weren't much!
