I have a copper colored 1 franc. Cross on one side. Wheat sprig on the other. What do I have?

G'day,
"Helvetia" is what the locals call Switzerland.
The cross is a representation of their flag.

It depends on the condition and the date.

If it's copper, it's probably 1 Rappen, a once common coin no longer in use. 1 Frank coins were silver during that period.

It took me a while to realise what you have there. It's actually a 1 rappen (the local equivalent of a cent), not a 1 franc. The franc of 1948 is larger, made of silver and with a completely different design.

1948 was the first year of issue for this new design 1 rappen. Worth a few dollars in Unc, but only a few cents if it's circulated.

I dont think that is useless I think its still a good find. Coins shouldnt be about value but about the designs and so and forth. I have one of them coins from 1954. I dont care if its only worth penny I still like it. Unfortunately I have no valuable coins. But still congrats on your find though.
