Hello - this is my first post. I recently purchased a 1964 P&D Mint Set. Each set is sealed in the original cellophane. Each set has a Kennedy 5 Cent US postage stamp where the usual Philadelphia or Denver mint medallion is usually placed. The Stamp is sealed into the cellophane packet. Does anyone know anything about this style of 1964 mint set packaging ? Thank you.

Envelope may be real, the set is an aftermarket put together set.

Stamps were not included in mint sets.

Most of the original sets I'm seeing online have red or blue stripes on the edges of the plastic, indicating which mint that set came from. Since yours has no stripe, I'm thinking it is not an original (i.e. Mint-produced) set -- the stamps were added later, as others have suggested.

!

I am thinking this is an after market set also.
Alpha is correct...the originals have the red and blue lines on the cello.
It's still a neat set tho!
