The Gregorian Bi Metal Millennium $20 Proof. This coin commemorates the start of the third millennium under the Gregorian calendar. This coin was named after Pope Gregory XIII who reformed the calendar in line with the solar year in 1582. How am I doing Terry..... [:p]

Congrats !!! Saw your bid about 2 days ago through this Forum's link to ebay auctions. I did not put the auction down to "watch" (watching too many). How much did you end up paying

Wow ,what a stunning coin. I am getting to be like Terry with these Australian Coins. In my case however, I have a lot more "want" then money! My next coin is the 1/10 oz Croc Gold coin. I love my new Gold Dog coin. My new Macca's book is creating an even bigger want list. Now Terry has me hooked on Gold from the Netherlands as well. I have three coins on the way right now. Oh well I'll just have to drive the old car for another year. LOL Mike (I love this stuff!!!)

You are a robber projack.....it is not a buy but a steal at that price...[:p] It is the lowest price I am aware of now for this coin. Now that you two have the tri metal, you will need the silver proof one to complete this series....maybe [:p]

There are a fair number of modern day issues that are struck using this sort of a metal. All of the Aussie circulating dollars use this type of metal since 1984 when the dollar coin was introduced to our coinage. There may even be other Mints who have used this sort of metal before us. Aluminium Bronze is a mixture of 92% copper and 6% Aluminium, the other 2 % can either be zinc or nickel.

It is OFFICIAL!!! I am now the proud owner of the 2002 CommonWealth Games trimetallic $50 coin!!! It arrived this morning and "stunning" would not be the word for what Australia has created here! Can't believe I found this coin in California!!! Now all we must do is wait on the 2001 Centenary of Federation Set, which my wife just purchased, to arrive and 2005 went out with an Aussie Explosion and 2006 entered with an Aussie Explosion!!! Really enjoying what I have found Down Under!!!

Congrats Terry....the tri metal $50.00 coin is a stunning coin. Just wait till you receive the 2001 COF 20 coins set, it is a real visual treat. The real challenge for you now is to make a special holder and mount all the 20 coins in it....
