I'm afraid clearer pix will show wear on coat and beard, so I call picked from circulation, #1 has way too many contact hits and others seem to show very slight rubbings...AU58 tops.

I think the au would be closer as well. They do show signs of wear. Most of what my Grand Father collected was probably in his time as post master. I know he was always on the hunt for the elusive 43 copper. I've a greater respect for his hunt now after seeing how many he gathered. Couldn't downsize the image of 28 mouthwash cups full with years 40 to 58, one cup with about 40 cents from 1916 to 1939.
