The 1962 cents won't have doubled knee examples. Do you know why? It is because the dies were made different then, than they were in the 80's-2008 memorial cents. Some dies were created with a single squeeze process. (Pressed just one time to make the die) When the alighment of the hub and new die is slight off a bit, the hub will snap into the correct position. The miss alignment of the hub will create doubled knees,

and even steps onto the dies.

Sorting them:

Thus you will find these on the single squeeze dies. Of then the central areas of these dies on other denominations with show the doubling in the central areas. On the 1962 dies, the multi-hubbing process was used. The devices showing doubled dies on these are totally different from the single squeeze dies. Hub alignment, hub distortion, hub rotations can affect these dies. Even using an old hub and then re-hubbed with a different hub can create doubled dies.
