Hmm, with that crocodile on the rev (upside down in your pic), your piece looks similar to RIC 158. I'm not sure that I've got it exactly right though.

I was watching a coin like this on ebay, got too expensive for my blood. It's Augustus Caesar and Agrippa.

Could it be a counterfeit? If it was a Augustus and Agrippa the hair of the figures itīs different near the neck and maybe itīs so worn that it donīt worth nothing.

Since ancient coins are hand struck, I know that no two coins are alike. The fact that they are slightly different is good. As far as authenticity, I am fairly new to the hobby so I can't give you an expert opinion.

If you want to research fakes. I use these two sites:

http://www.forumancientcoins.com/fakes/
(use the search feature at top)

If you see a match then you definitely have a fake.

The coin appears genuine IMO. This is one of the nicest examples I've seen , excellent strike and detail.
