I got this in change a couple days ago and my first thought was "What's a golfer doing on the reverse of a cent?". I always flip through my change before dumping it in the jar and I swear this is the first time I've seen one of these, going on 9 years later. People really hoarded them, I guess. It's a rare "not one of the 101 varieties".    |

If it is the P mint, there are almost 100 varieties of a DDR! Look at or around the thumb, forefinger and book binding for "the finger". Some are quite pronounced and look like a skeleton finger! |

There were four reverses for hat year. 1) Birth Place (Cabin) 2) Formative Years (Abe sitting on A log reading a book) 3) Professional Life (Abe Standing) 4) Presidency (The White House) Edit: Also to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Lincoln Cent! No, you are fine and I apologize for the confusion. I should have included a quote because my response was to what Mox had wrote as a general clarification on the rules, but kbbpll slipped in there.  Little gifts to specific individuals here and there (like we have here) are okay, just keep the banter minimal.  That being said, a more general giveaway like "free to a good home" or "anyone who needs these can have them" should be in the C/Q/G forum so all can see. I hope that makes sense, if not, let me know. |
