That was my first thought.
But don't forget that there are TWO types of Buffalo nickels AND TWO types of Jefferson nickels.

All good advice. I like the Half Dime idea. Nice looking group of nickels, by the way.

Well... to complete the varieties set you need...

1883 NO CENTS if that's a CENTS version
1938-1941 Jeff
1946-2003 Jeff

THe 4 versions of 2004/2005 Jeffs

A return to Montecello Jeff (2006-now)

Then start with the Half Dimes

Time to start a type set of all coins. Why not Dimes?

Thx for all the replies. Recent additions: 1886 w/ rays; 2 Jefferson nickels from my change jar; type 1 Buffalo in the mail; also retrieving a 1909 Liberty nickel from my mom's basement I had since I was a wee lad (w/ cents type).

Make a strong statement about the history of U.S. coinage.
(in nickels)

I would go for a complete type set of nickels, including all of the major reverse design types within the four main groups photographed.
