I am going to say Close AM, but I am not 100% sure. Can you get a picture of the FG for comparison also.

I suspect yours is a Close AM, but you might compare you coin against this reference to be sure.

Darn it! I think it is the Close AM. This is a 1993D penny. I was hoping that this would be the first one of it's kind!

Keep looking and good luck...you never know! I found a 99-S proof Close AM at a recent show.

Definitely Close AM.

Another way to tell that's fail safe is to look at the distance between the "TAT" of "STATES". If the three letters are evenly spaced, wide-AM. If the A is a little closer to the second T, close-AM.

There are actually a number of differences between the two designs. By far the most common known of these is the "AM" itself and the initials...But I had a case of an off-center cent that obliterated most of the AM and the initials were gone altogether, so I had to use STATES to determine which reverse it was.

Just another way to skin the same cat.
