Still in the target area. Just a high mint mark location. Not touching the design or devices. So it is OK. Mint marks are hand punched on the dies. The locations will vary. So it is normal as it is in the target area. After 1989, the hand punching stopped. So on the 1990 coins the mint mark was on the dies and the dies are created at each mint. RPMs stopped in 1989. But if the mint mark is doubled, then it will now be a doubled die. Only one I know of that this has happened on: The digits are also part of the doubled die as well. But it is common to see die wear affect mint marks on dies since 1990.

The one you have posted now is a known error. It has a FS# I just can't find it. Handle it with care and put it in an Air-Tite capsule. John1

Check link provided by John1. Last I read a MS example was still being sought. Some time has past now. Thanks, Doug.
