Deciding whether or not I want to upgrade this piece. My motto example is also below. I am trying to make my 7070 consistent. What are your thoughts on the 1847 grade? Thanks!! Took many pictures to show color luster and details.

looks xf40 with a market acceptable cleaning

The 47 is ok. Looks like it has subtle toning when put under light. I'm not crazy about it and would grade it xf-45.

I more curios about the 71. I remember it from the auction. The finger print on the obverse bothered me and it looked like the toning was recent so I suspected it had been cleaned and retoned. How does it look in hand? Is there any cartwheel luster left?

47 looks 40 and isn't terribly attractive. The partial toned partial not toned is a little distracting.

The 71 is a different story and I like it a lot better. You would definitely need to upgrade the 47 to fit in with the 71.

for the '47, I would give it XF-45, with an old cleaning.
