I am not much of an error collector, but I thought this was quite nice, and in really good condition too. And considering the obverse is virtually all field now, there is very little bagging and virtually no wear.

I am going to hazard a guess that it was struck through oil. Does anyone else have a theory?

Apart from AUS missing in Australia, the legend is sharp and clear. The face is very faint, as is most of the hair, yet the middle of the tiara is reasonably clear, and the neck and designers initials are well struck.

Hopefully these photos are better than my last attempt. Been following SuperDaves lesson in the photography section.

Here one I have found a while ago. To me it looks exactly like latman's.

Xristaki, welcome to the forum. And I would say it is exactly like mine, except it is a better photo (still practicing though). The well struck portions are in exactly the same place, the missing letters have that same, almost punched in, appearance. Is it possible to have two coins exactly the same Struck Through Grease? Or is it maybe a damaged die?

I wouldn't be too hard on your photography latman, bigger does not always mean better. Here is your coin cropped up, hope you don't mind. You have captured it well when considering detail and colour. Especially seeing it is through a 2*2.

Thanks for the encouragement Farnby. I am using an old kodak 5 megapixel camera and would rather spend money on coins then a new camera. Got the white balance fixed so no pink coins anymore, and using timer so I don't have to hold the camera, so no more movement. Now just have to fix up the clarity/focus a little.
