I think we are only allowed to edit a post on forums for 24 hours, or I would save a post on the first page to add updates as we went. Here is a picture of the Franklins. Another thing I found that is sort of funny to me, is when she was telling me he made alot of rolls of LMCs by year, I said it wouldf be funny if he had a roll of 1970s cus then I would go blind trying to figure out if they are small date or large. Sure enough I have found an uncirculated roll of 1970s, and to be honest I'm lost trying to see if the 7 is low or high.

Shaw I bet you're having a blast. I always look at the date on the 70-S, focusing on the curve of the 9 and the high or low seven. Normally I'm leaning one way or the other and then I look at the word Liberty. If the strike is weak, small date. Here is a link that has been helpful to me. http://www.Lincolncentresource.com/...alldate.html

Here are a couple pics of the 1970s LMCs, they appear to be unciculated but many look like he touched them before he put them in the roll. The first pic I'm posting is to show one thing that has me going crazy trying to determine what is what, and that is how the mint mark isn't always in the same place so it makes them look different. The second pic here is a different pair of coins I wanted to show what looks like a small square around the mint mark of the coin in front. The picture only shows one side of the square, but it looks like something to do with the mint mark.

Most people only look at the newest replies when they come back and will miss out if you only have updates in the original post. Quote: Here is a picture of the Franklins. Wow!

Shaw69, the best diagnostic I have for the 1970-S Small Date cent is to look at the word LIBERTY. If it is a Small Date, it will be very weak. The motto is also weak on these coins. I found one last year. I put gridlines on a picture of it to show how the tops of the numbers all line up on it.
CRH Nickeloholic. 1,600,000 nickels searched in eight years! Have found FOUR complete Jefferson sets!

Started to get into some of the LMC rolls today. Here are some pics. There are a total of 5 boxes filled with rolls. Each one is fairly heavy, so I haven't even opened the other 4. They seem to have lids nailed on. This is a new picture of the first box, after putting the Wheat penny rolls in one part. This one box had 59 rolls of wheat pennies. Remember I thought I had to look through 1 rolls of 1970s for small dates? This box actually has 16 rolls of 1970s. A few rolls of 1974 d LMCs still in rolls from the bank also. Mostly it was her husband just making rolls of pennies back in the day, all of them are pre-1982, which makes me think he was saving them because of the copper.

WOW. This is just incredible to see. Thanks for sharing so that we may live vicariously through your photos. I'm sitting here imagining.... what if these rolls were all Morgan dollars? Then I imagine how much I would hate you. Hehe. Just kiddin'. Can't wait to see more!

That's a lot of copper. And those particle board "drawers"? are pretty heavy too. How's your back?

@ Darth Morgan so far I have only found 1 roll of Morgan/peace dollars. Various dates, I will try to post those tomorrow.
@ Celtic Knot, yes the boxes/drawers are very heavy. She told me when they moved into their house the movers wanted them to pick one place to put them and refused to move them again lol. I plan on only moving around and sorting one box at a time, just due to the weight of them.
I'm noticing he saved A LOT of bicentennial stuff also, like rolls of IKEs, halves and quarters.
She also mentioned that she told her friend I was helping her sort the collection and now her friend wants a hand as well. The friend is close to 70 and has her father's collection she needs sorted, so that could be really old coins.
