What is it? That is a very good question. It doesn't look like a die crack to me, but it also doesn't really look like a linear plating bubble to me (although that remains my best guess). It also could be plain old damage, but it doesn't really look like that either. I'll be interested to see what others say on this one.

Interesting, doesn't appear to be a plating bubble or a die crack. My first guess is PMD but it could also have been struck-through. It seems to go over the I in IN... but the right rim is disturbed. Going with strategic PMD, it's an EF45 coin so it's seen a lot of duty.

Here's an example of the odd type of damage that resembles a mint error but it's just PMD.

Final thoughts are there's something on the coin, after strike adherence, glue?

Is the line raised or incuse? It really looks like it may have been struck through something, maybe thread/fiber/wire. That would be a cool find!

The line is raised, and I am pretty sure it's not glue...I don't have a microscope, only a strong magnifying glass...I am 90% on it being minted like that and not PMD but

Quote: The line is raised Okay, so that means the coin wasn't struck through debris. From here, it could be a plating bubble (doesn't really look like it), debris between the zinc core and plating, or damage. I have to say, though, when I look at the right side rim, the mark looks incuse and that could be a struck through error. I can't tell any more without good closeups or seeing it in hand.

If you look at the letters I of IN and S of TRUST, there is a raised portion going OVER the top. Not a stamping error.

I don't know what it is but, I am going to say some kind of plating issue. I hope coop or Mike chimes in. John1
