Working on my cents from the 30s and came across this one. Is this one considered a Grease Filled Die on the word Liberty? Does anyone save these when you come across them?
Thanks in advance.

You're correct. It is a Grease Filled Die and it's a great example. Nice find!

I would keep that one. With a couple letters completely missing and a really faint B, it's not something you'll find everyday.

Not only is it a Grease Fill, it may just be a thinned planchet. The wheat feather on the reverse isn't fully formed. nor is the rim offset defined on the obverse. May be slightly underweight, less than 2.5g.

Thanks for the info everyone. Even though I keep all the wheats I find I'm putting this in a 2X2. I took a bigger scan of the reverse and I put it on a scale 2.9.

I agree. It is probably not a Grease Filled Die issue, but a tapered planchet issue. Note how the rim almost disappears on both sides of the coin in that area? The opposite side of the coin shows the other edge fully formed. Nice find.
