1964 D Roosevelt Dime Repunched Mint Mark / RPM

ARS2017 New Member United States 8 Posts	Posted 01/31/2018 2:25 pm Hi, I found this coin a while ago and after inspecting it, I see what I believe to be a repunched mintmark. coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 01/31/2018 3:31 pm Sorry. That is Machine Doubling. How can I tell? Note that area compared with the top loop of the mint mark. You can see where the Machine Doubling reduced the size of that area of the mint mark. The area below the MD is showing what the original mint mark looked like, before it was reduced by MD. So it is not a RPM. But it is still a silver dime, so don't spend it for face value. It is worth a lot more in silver melt. Edited by coop 01/31/2018 3:34 pm Report this Post to the Staff
