ooooo, this oughta be goooooood! I'd best be hoping its a real, damaged date 1858...than a cheap Chinese fake 1856 that costs $2 from the no-no site. I can get 1858's, both size letters for $15 on Proxibid

I would wait until I get it in hand to celebrate. It is most likely what it is labeled to be.

Possible Damaged 8, can see the hits, the F in OF is right is pattern for the 56, but is this one of hunderds of thousands of fakes?.

Addendum: take a good look at the down leg of the center post of "F", if I'm not mistaken that is a marker of fake. Let Earle42 in...

Don't get your hopes up too much...I think you got what you paid for.

The O in OF and the 5 in the date look like those on the 1858.

Right Butch - the F in OF isn't even close to what it's supposed to look like. Not to mention the center post of the M is looking too fat.

I think the best the OP can hope for is if they send him the 1858 in the 2X2 pictured.

And the 1856 did not have "small letters". That redesign came in 1858. So this must be an 1858.

It is indeed an 1858.
Now I can see that from a certain angle it looks like an 1856.
Don't worry I didn't quit my job
Rest in Peace
