SilverDollar2017 and Mr. Frog got it ;) Look at the date...1 and 8 heavily repunched to the southeast. I think that makes this Snow 1 (S-1), I'll see if the 4 also has signs of repunching when I get the coin.

Not a big premium/scarcity like the 73/80 DDO's or the 71/72 Shallow N reverses, but still a nice find "in the wild." It's one of the stronger "naked eye" RPD's for the series along with the 67/67 and 94/94 to name a couple.

Adam - Agree it's a remarkable recut date for little money, relatively speaking. There are a number of them from this era. Yours is a handsome example.

So that's what it was! I knew I was seeing something fishy in that area, but I just attributed it to camera shake. I never knew there was a repunched date for that year.
