Nice portrait and good detail on both sides, congrats! Valerian is interesting to collect due to the huge variety of portraits, most of them of the cartoonish eastern style, as that's where he spent most of his reign to repair the damage done by Gallus' negligence.

Thanks again all. When I get a new Emperor I usually like to get one of his Empress next, in keeping with the Emperor/Empress set I have going. This time though it may be a while. The Mariniana coins look to be much higher in price. Probably due to limited variety minted with her portrait.

Good luck! I still haven't found a Mariniana I like at a price I can stomach... you either gotta fork out $60+ for a corroded cull, or $120+ for an almost problem free VF. Her coins aren't rare in the sense that there are always a few for sale, but a bargain or even solid deal will clearly take months or years.

With Finn... Quote: When I get a new Emperor I usually like to get one of his Empress next, in keeping with the Emperor/Empress set I have going. Me too and this is probably why I haven't bought one of his yet.Saying that you can pick up a nice coin, with the more common peacock reverse, for around 100 euros which would compliment your Valerian nicely..Good luck..
