This one has a minor die clash also but the "D" & "E" had some issues and I was wondering what caused them?
The "D" is odd but the "E" is stretched toward the rim so my guess is MD but not sure...

I can see heavy Die Deterioration Doubling on your coin. It could be a combination of both ( Die Deterioration Doubling and Machine Doubling). But we'll see what the other members think.

Worn die, VLDS with a lot of flowing metal,I'd say your hunch is right on MD.
Can't quite make out what you are seeing in the field in front of the profile!
