Not an expert but it looks really fake. Nose and lips are too detailed. Coin press was too perfectly centered for my tastes. edge circumference too perfect .Just my first impression.

IMHO,If it was floating around in space for 2000 years in a vaccum the detail wouldnt be that good with micrometeriods hitting it. a US Penny doesn't even come off that sharp. And why does it look gold plated over bronze? Did they even know how to do that back then? I personally wouldnt risk it- But please dont take my word for it- I am a NOOB. Others on here are the real experts.

Not sure about value or authenticity.

Just wanted to say it is nice to see you getting into ancient coins.

another thing why are the letters are "worn" yet the ears and hair at the thickest part of the coin still perfect? You would think that would be the first to get worn. idk -just a NOOB here- dont mind me.

Nothing wrong at all with this coin. Some here are unaware that circular cropping techniques are often used in coin photography.
That said let's go through the pros and cons ...... shall we ?
First the cons
Some issues with the patination
Obverse shows some corrosion between 2 & 4 oclock but nothing too severe
Reverse has two spots - below the head of Hilaritas and over at 4 oclock
Not certain but these could be from bronze disease. Nothing too terrible though !
The reverse type is relatively common.
Pros
Nice green color and definite old collection look to the tone ie it wasn't recently cleaned.
Portrait is sharp and most of the legends appear readable.
There might be a 'laquer' on this coin which is giving it its high gloss.
First thing I would do is soak in acetone to remove it and then give it a "prophylactic" treatment for BD.

All things considered I can see it selling for more than $100 and less than $200
Somewhere in the middle !
I collect only bronze and this is a coin I would certainly bid on ....... but I won't !

I just now checked the link provided by Bob L
If you look at lot 424 you will see the same coin with the scars of BD on the reverse.
Tends to be a big turn off for most of us bronze fans
I think $100 is a safe price for this coin
But price is relative ..... $125 would not be terrible either !

Nice coin, however it does look like it had Bronze disease at one time was treated and than Ren waxed. With that said I still think the value is in the $200+ range. The portrait of the emperor is very nice.
