I see the die crack on the shield by the Letter T in cent, now everything else I don't know, Machine Doubling? tripling? thanks for looking, also I found in1 roll 13 die shield cracks and some other weird things Report this Post to the Staff

More there is of an error, less it is worth. The "doubling" is Plating disturbances and Die Deterioration, all results of the quality coins made in our US Mints...In computer terms, GIGO, garbage in, garbage out. The die crack is neat. I have a 2017 with a crack on Lincoln's forehead, but haven't found any others from change. Hold on to them if you like. I've let some coins with die cracks go back into circulation because there is no collector interest, but, then again, I've bought coins because of die cracks. It depends on what you like and what you want to collect. That way you have light and shadows. With two lights, you have light and light on both sides of the coin, but no shadows. But the area above 'CA' is showing Machine Doubling. (device altered after the strike by the machine) So it is a damaged normal coin with MD. Report this Post to the Staff
